As your Lordships are aware, the limit for the issue of notes by the various Branches of this Bank in the East, is $8,000,000 (say eight million dollars), secured to the extent of one third of the whole amount by the deposit with the Bank of England in the names of the Crown Agents for the Colonies of:-

Transvaal Government 3% Guaranteed Stock

£160,000.

New South Wales Government 3%

£ 50,000.

Queensland Government 3%

£ 30,000

Belgian 3% 2nd Series.

£ 25,000

Prussian Consolidated 3% State Loan

£ 25,000.

New Zealand Government 3%

£ 10,000.

India 24%

£ 25,000.

Cape of Good Hope Consolidated 3% Stock

£10,000.
